Dr. Maria A. Karpov received her DMD degree from the University of Pennsylvania, where she then completed her postdoctoral studies in Orthodontics and received her Masters in Oral Biology. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, the highest level of achievement in the field. Dr. Karpov dedicates a substantial amount of time to continuing education. She successfully completed a two-year course on Functional Occlusion, which focuses on aesthetic and functional goals in orthodontic treatment. She also completed courses in Bioesthetic Dentistry which focuses on rehabilitation of the chewing system in adult patients. Dr. Karpov finished TMD and Orofacial Pain mini residency program in 2015.

Dr. Karpov taught clinical orthodontics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, Department of Orthodontics for over 10 years . Dr. Maria Karpov is a guest lecturer at New York University postdoctoral specialty program in Advanced Esthetics and Occlusion. She is a frequent lecturer on topics of orthodontics in the greater New York area, and a member of several professional organizations including the American Association of Orthodontics, the American Dental Association, and the Middle Atlantic Society of Orthodontists. She is also a provider at Smiles Change Lives, a non-profit organization that serves children in need.

Dr. Karpov resides in downtown Manhattan with her partner and three children. She has one office in Tribeca and one in Upper West Side
